Committees

Printer-friendly version

32316The National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) has three standing committees, each responsible for specific areas of standards development. These committees conduct open hearings at the Interim and Annual Meetings; determine the status of agenda items and present items for adoption by NCWM. Any person or organization may use NCWM Form 15 to submit proposals to one or more of the four regional associations, requesting that the proposal be forwarded to the appropriate NCWM standing committee’s agenda. The standing committees draw on regulatory and industry expertise as well as input from NCWM’s broad membership base in the development of agenda items. A committee consists of five state or local regulatory officials and, in some cases, NIST technical advisors, Measurement Canada officials and representatives of the Associate Membership.
